Dawn has been an accountant since 1985 working with individuals and small business as their tax advisor. This includes helping clients to understand what records they need, how best to assemble them and when deadlines are approaching. She helps the clients understand what they need for their tax reporting obligations, answers their questions and gives them “if it was me, I would” solutions. In 2010, Dawn started Dawn Hampsey CPA - primarily serving Small and mid-size businesses.
Dawn has a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Elmira NY, and a Masters of Science in Taxation from SUNY Albany.
She has been a member of RWN since 1997, during this time she has led the Women Homeowners SIG, the Women Building Wealth SIG and the Chocolate Lovers SIG. She organized two Habitat for Humanity volunteer events for RWN members. In 2006 she co-chaired the Program Sales Ad Committee for the Business Conference. She is the VP of Finance and will become the President-elect in 2014. Dawn currently participates on the following committees: Finance, Programs, Summit Business Conference, Board Connections, and the Spring Fundraiser.
Dawn has been doing martial arts since 1990. She holds two different Aiki black belts and a brown in Judo. Dawn has been the President, Treasurer and VP of Education of her Toastmasters club and is a past Area Governor. She has also volunteered as a docent at the Susan B Anthony house since 1998.
