A NYS certified Woman Owned Business Enterprise. Angella is the recipient of the 2009 (National) American Business and 2008 Rochester Business ethics awards. She is married to her husband Harry Powell and has 2 English bulldogs Abby and Bubba.
She has recently started her second business. One Stop Janitorial and Office Supply, a distribution business, that sells anything from toilet paper to hand soap. Her catch phrase is “Your number #1 business for your number #2 business.”
Angella was honored in May 2009 as the US Small Business Administration (SBA) Buffalo/ Rochester and Region (New York State) II Home Based Business Champion of the Year. In 2011 and 2012 she was an Athena award finalist and a “W” award finalist in 2009 and 2012.
Angella is very engaged in her community. She is involved with Junior Achievement, where she teaches inner city school kids, job skills, interview skills, and much more. She also serves as President of the Monroe County JSEC board.
Angella’s involvement goes back many years with RWN. She has served as co- chair of membership and ambassador committee, “W” award chair, founder of “Free Networking” which she still co-chairs with Cynthia Smith. She currently sits on the membership, ambassador, orientation and Mardi Gras committees. RWN has bestowed many honors on Angella starting in 2008 when she was named one of the Vital Women Vital Roles honorees for her work in small business. In 2009 she was named one of the Up and Coming honorees, and has been a “W” finalist in 2009 and 2012.
She has written her first book, “Wisdom in a Traffic Jam”, all the secrets no one tells you about owning an amazingly successful business. She is a contributing writer for the past two years in the Rochester Woman Magazine which features her “Dear Angella” column, and in the Democrat and Chronicle as a weekly blogger and periodic contributor for RWN’s Women at Work Column.
